What is the Bad Times AI trend?

The joke is a fight with whoever is filming. The person mouths the song line by line as if it were their side of the argument, losing patience with the phone until they charge right up to the lens. It started with a daughter arguing with her dad in the car on August 30, 2026 (45 million views), and took off with a French creator's solo take in her kitchen on September 9 (22 million views). That kitchen take is the one every AI version copies.

The moves, in order:

• Bent over with both hands on the head, then straightening up.
• Both palms on the cheeks, staring at the phone in disbelief.
• One hand on the hip, the other flapping beside the face and slapping the forehead.
• Both palms up in front of the chest: "hold on, listen to me".
• A turn away, then a charge at the camera.
• The face right at the lens, a finger jabbing at it, then a palm slapped at the screen.

From October 1, 2026 people started making the argument with AI: babies, cats, dogs and movie stars doing the same moves, the first ones passing 4.8 million views. Some accounts tag them "angry dance filter" (what that means). The song itself is also made with AI tools, which is a separate question (is BAD TIMES an AI song?).
